Presenting STC’s 2020 Teen Show:
STC has chosen these two one-act plays in acknowledgement and celebration of the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote. One drama and one comedy, they are tied together by themes of feminism, intrigue, and unexpected conclusions.
Trifles explores a murder case out on the farm of Mr. and Mrs. John Wright, where the men search for clues to the murder and the women make a surprising discovery inside the house.
How The Vote Was Won takes a slightly extreme and fairly hilarious look at women’s suffrage in London, through the eyes of Horace Cole, his wife Ethel, and a sudden houseful of other colorful characters.
Story Theater Company’s annual teen show is an intensive experience where the participants form a theater company to create a production. With the guidance of a director and a design mentor, the teens not only act in the show, but are also responsible for all sets, costumes, props, lights, dramaturgy, music, and stage management.
