We have openings for various positions to help Story Theater Company accomplish its mission to bring professional theatrical opportunities to the young people of Ames.
WINTER/SPRING 2022 PRODUCTION STAFF
STC ON TOUR: RUTHERFORD WOLF
Rehearsals begin January 5 (Tue./Thu. from 4:00-6:00). Rehearsals and touring performances continue on Tue./Thu. through early April, 2022. (No rehearsal during Spring Break.) Cast size: 8 actors ages 11+.
This is a hilariously well done mixed-up fairytale, featuring characters like Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, and Rutherford Wolf—a gentle, polite vegetarian with allergies.
The STC OnTour production is a unique experience designed to accomplish three things:
1. Rehearse & perform a tourable, one-act play.
2. Bring the play to places like after-school programs and the Ames Public Library, where audience members may not otherwise experience much theater.
3. Individual actor coaching on short scenes/monologues/etc, for the growth of each actor and to be performed in a showcase with the one-act at STC’s Black Box at the end of the tour.
BADGER (TEEN SHOW)
Auditions in early January. Rehearsals begin in mid-February on Tue/Thu evenings (6:00-9:00) and Saturday mornings (9:30-12:00). No rehearsal during Spring Break. Performances either the first or second weekend of April at the STC Black Box. Cast size: approximately 15 actors ages 13+.
One director and three design mentors needed to train and supervise teen production teams. “Badger” follows the lives of five young women employed at Badger Ordnance Works during WWII. With a fluid scene structure and a dynamic ensemble, this show is emotional and gritty, historical and fresh.
